jori hulkkonen

turku - finland

Finland's Jori Hulkkonen has never been the one to paint himself in the corner.
With releases in the last two decades exploring 360 degrees on the musical radar, he's been hailed as a "living legend of electronic composition" and "music's best kept secret".

While earlier influences included slightly more traditional pop music from Depeche Mode to Pet Shop Boys and from John Foxx to The Smiths, the new wave of American electronic club music pushed Jori towards experimenting with structures and textures that were far removed from those roots. Still, a lot of those early influences pushed through in his productions

moodmusic - my favorite robot / berlin

Sasse has been making and playing seriously deep club music for more than two decades now. His mission has always been to conjure up warm atmospheres, inviting grooves and heady soundscapes that encase listeners and take them to another place, and he has done so in many different ways.

Firstly, as a DJ, he has played all over the world and as a producer, he never fails to cook up compelling moods and grooves on labels like Pokerflat, My Favourite Robot, Bedrock or Dirt Crew whether working solo, or as Hot Lunch with the acclaimed Ewan Pearson, as electro outfit Mr Negative with Holmar Filipsson from Thugfucker or with Innervisions star Henrik Schwarz.

As well as this, of course, he is also the boss and driving force behind the Moodmusic label, which is synonymous with classy, cerebral house and techno sounds from both new talents and established stars alike.

A quarter of a century after starting out, then, Sasse is as essential to the underground electronic scene as ever.

cadenza / switzerland

Michel Cleis has come a long way since releasing his super-distinctive smash hit ‘La Mezcla’ back in 2009. One of the bona fide anthems of that summer and an Ibiza staple to this day, it stands as a testament to Michel’s undeniable musical talent.

Now a globally established DJ/producer with a slew of acclaimed productions to his name, his eclectic and diverse taste for melodies and warm grooves has lead him to collaborate with some of the biggest artists in the industry and to craft a unique style embracing several influences and backgrounds.

Joining Cadenza and its residency at Pacha and Ushuaïa in 2010 was a timely move for Cleis, who is now part of the Vagabundos circus of performers and an active member of Luciano’s DJ crew and label. A seasoned fixture on the house and techno circuit, he has released on acclaimed labels like Rekids, Supplement Facts, Buzzin’ Fly, Aus, Strictly Rhythm, Defected and Ovum.
